Read about Colombia to learn about it and enjoy every page! This one has not been translated to English yet therefore, it is a bonus! It was also recently adapted into an animated film, which is very much worth watching. It takes place during the countrys rubber boom, a time when the remaining native populations, after a century of independence from the Spanish, were being exploited in order to harvest rubber from the trees. She meets Nesto, who teaches her about the life-giving forces of the ocean, giving her space to find peace and redemption. Again, skip Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar and read this one instead.
