Once you get used to the blizzard hitbox you will probably find yourself doing all this by instinct. i think frozen orb works far, far, better than blizzard. try to look into several diferent ones.

I'd typically cast blizzard and make sure to move in such as way as to keep them in the blizzard square. how do i get max synergies on a cold sorc? For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.
Thanks in advance! Even better, just drop them with glacial spike/ice blast instead of waiting for the blizzard to hit a single mob.
Do not use glacial spike. Even normal moving monsters will be through it before it can take effect. 2022 Magic Find, Inc. All rights reserved. If decrepify is messing you up too much try to kite them one at a time or a few at a time away from Baal (Treachery is OP vs decrepify btw).
Especially for fighting diablo who seems to stand pretty still while he shoots fire at me. This is not a problem with orb.
I dare you. I get 15-16k without the +20/-20 Monarch, if I did have one; I'd say 16-17k would be the max you would be able to get. The blind mind's eye replies with a sigh and a tear of contempt for those who see the world as it truly is. Also, going from dual element to single, try to get used to isolating targets and telestomping with your merc. His melee doesn't hurt much and if he does his firestorm thing just teleport to the opposite side of him. Y'all are breathtaking! Moreover, the damage of Blizzard does not start immediately, but with a brief delay. I think I'll just have to practice to get the hang of it now that I have a better idea of how it works.
Blizzard is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo II. For example, Baal wave 2 you can destroy the casters in a second. The TLDR is you want things to move around in the blizzard.
Dont cast blizzard directly on enemies. When you cast blizzard it will rain shards of ice down over an area. A strong merc to keep them in placr and teleporting as mentioned to keep them in the damage area helps immensely.
Then as they walk into it, teleport to the other side of them. You don't always want to target smaller or moving enemies but instead target where they will be. sure the damage is lower, but does the damage really matter when you have a much better reliability of actually hitting enemies? Wretched survivors of this wintry storm can do little but crawl and lament their fallen kin before they, too, succumb to the cold. You must log in or register to reply here. Some enemies, if they're quick enough, can dodge Blizzard altogether, although they will most likely suffer at least one hit. I have plugy so I just did a quick respec and the damage seems great! Just barely. The entire area is not affected by an AOE, but instead each ice shard delivers the damage listed on the blizzard. Act bosses are a lot easier to hit with blizzard since they have a larger hitbox.
Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. It is simply their methods of effect that differ, Blizzard being a traditional AoE spell, Frozen Orb a projectile.
Remember to apply ice blast and glacial spike liberally to shore up the holes in your offense.
After a while you will notice that you can position your merc so he is the primary target. By that I mean teleporting on top of cold immunes and quickly casting static or if your static is high enough, casting static on entire mob then teleporting on top of individual monsters. I do not know if this is a consistent or random pattern, but I'm guessing there is some consistency.

don't forget the all important merc a must have for casters. I agree, Ive used them both a good bit and I love the control orb gives me over Blizzard. Also, Blizzard deals its damage over a period of 4 seconds. When you cast blizzard you can see where the shards fall. That gives the highest damage output as they have to enter, travel through, and exit the area of effect. This is a good strat for any build and helps you get better at dodging projectiles. Stationary targets dont get hit very many times, though it does depend on their size. This site works best with JavaScript enabled. With the invocation of this spell, entire hordes of enemies are left chilled or dead, drowned in a hail of ice.
The trick when dealing with smaller mobs that are harder to hit is to not cast blizzard over the same area twice unless they're moving. As with most things, the amazon basin has a very thorough explanation.
But it's just not as fun to play. Thanks for the great tips! This is the most effective offensive spell that this discipline has to offer.
JavaScript is disabled. Enemies reached may be chilled in addition to damage.
Most likely not as a Snowclash has +2 blizzard, which only makes it 1 more than arachnid :cheesy: I messed it up with glacial spike :grrr: theres really no point in putting it past 12k if ur not pvp, even if u we're a 12k blizz with maxed mastery can kill most, if not all ppl 1 hit.
I guess I use kind of like a 3-point triangle movement; go clockwise and counter clockwise, depending on how the mob/boss is following you, to keep their time in the blizzard maximized. FINAL EDIT - MY ENEMIES FALL BEFORE THE MIGHT OF MY BLIZZARD.
You never need more that -195%. Press J to jump to the feed. A trick that works well on mobs and bosses is to cast blizzard at a point between you and them. Or consistently. I'll see what happens after some practice. Your setup is far from perfect. http://www.diablo2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=556, http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/370600/27124. Both are very good though. If you're familiar with Meteor, use it similarly but with a much faster time of impact. You want to the enemies dancing around in the blizzard, not stuck in one spot. if your looking at a guides for character builds. Thanks again, all the comments have congealed to cold sorc working better for me than the meteorb! Well that is pointless. By far the most offensively powerful Cold Spell, Blizzard deals large amounts of damage over a rather large area of effect, and is therefore chosen as the staple skill for builds such as the Blizzard Sorceress.
you will get more information on the character you want to build. The monsters take a few frames to turn around and begin walking or attacking towards you in your new location.
Blizzard may not be able to hit targets that are standing close to walls/pillars/etc. After they are dead I teleport into the middle of the immune mages then static them all to 50%.
Both Blizzard and Frozen Orb are effective crowd control spells. After that the only way to kill them is to teleport on top of each of them one at a time.
I won't bother trying to blizzard next to the act boss, just drop them directly on and spam ice blast while blizzard cools down. NONE ARE SPARED (except cold immunes of course). But I can't seem to hit things quickly with blizzard. For one, although it can stack on top of itself to deal major damage, it has a considerable cooldown that stops it from being cast in quick succession; it is therefore important to have proper aim with Blizzard, which sometimes may be difficult as the shards of ice are sometimes difficult to gauge in position. :surprise: Probably with the +2 extra from snowclash you get 20k.
Thanks for this reference, haven't seen the site before. Edit - upvotes for everyone! It has less damage but if you throw an orb over a group of enemies it will hit way more than Blizzard . But I hear great things about blizzard. +1 for ice blast. Since I'm too lazy to calculate again just take the damage I calculated before and assume no skill shrine. I just click on whatever I want to hit and drop the blizzard Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong here? I'm SP. When this happens spam ice blast or glacial spike between blizzard casts as well as before and after you teleport to dodge. I did it before, but I'm bored so I'll list it again (everything filled with facets): You're right it does.
RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200). Oh and sometimes with Blizzard no matter how hard you try sometimes enemies will be in a spot where you cannot hit them, usually up against walls and such.
Wanna chase me Lister?
Instead, cast it in front of them so they are forced to move through it.
