Unfortunately, in the end, upon witnessing humanity's descent into sin and corruption (which was required as the sinful events that unfolded were in actuality the seals that held Lucifer at bay) caused Satan to fall into disillusion, wholly convinced that they were beyond reprieve at this point, and decided to wipe out humanity in its entirety, creation being free from their poison. However, each time their efforts were thwarted and in vain as Satan proved to be a far more powerful opponent than they realized, and while Lucifer guided his forces, Satan did most of the work into bringing about the Apocalypse such as raising the four towers of Babel across the Four Corners of the World using the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. During the battles, Satan once again fought against Alucard who was joined by Alexander Anderson of the Iscariot who was armed with some of the holy relics of the Arma Christi. Satan was God's personal arbiter for the afterlife to check if man was worthy of the Millennium Kingdom and even when he fell, he was still allowed limited access to Heaven. Samael easily defeated many of the angels that attempted to stop him and was even capable of overcoming an archangel or two that engaged him in combat. Even when facing the combined might of Dante and Vergil, he hardly put any effort into his combat prowess against them, clearly demonstrating the sheer power gap between him and the Sons of Sparda. After the Beast reached its completed state, it then went on to immediately devour the Harlot of Babylon, who was at the precipice of defeat after a fearsome battle with three members of the Initiative, which was the final step in having the Tree of Knowledge sprout from within it and bore the fruit.
Satan retreats with extreme scorn and contempt and, after the third temptation, Jesus is administered by the angels as the speech of God was incredibly taxing for his mortal body. Thus, he needed to remove humans from the equation as His time spent on them would have an effect on his judgment and decisions. Being the adversary of God and the arbiter of the human race, Satan has been infamously known as the ultimate walking power of malevolence, terror, and destruction, expressing his power over nearly all who dare face him. A deadly and Machiavellian being, he can also be extremely violent, vindictive, selfish, sinister, and egregiously malevolent, willing to wipe out anyone who stands in the way of his ambitions. His head goes above the clouds, his hands could be mistaken for islands, and is clad with ice and crowned with smoke and fire. Ariel subdued Samael by one arm while Hasmed subdued him by the other arm, giving Abdiel an opening for him to drive his sword into his chest.
He is called the Adversary due to the fact that he is "anti-everything", working through lies to drag humanity back into darkness and disorder. However, Satan also was alerted by the presence of Yhoundeh, posing as a foreign Elk-Goddess, but is in actuality one of the Old Ones. Samael used the momentum of his hammer to toss Ariel into Hasmed before knocking the two angels away with his hammer. He was the second to awaken to Lucifer's call when the Morning Star summoned his fallen brethren after their own respective falls from Paradise, although in Samael's case he had to climb the unfashioned darkness and the furious flapping of his wings to maintain his momentum created powerful gusts of wind that soon cooled off the fiery impact crater which would become the icy winds of the Ninth Circle.
However, there were at times where Satan's own personal goals superseded that which the Illuminati desire. Satan would come to be known as the God of this World, for wherever there is sin, there is his presence and thus his control over the region of the world where sin reigns supreme.

The forces of Hell want the child in order to use its blood to open the Scroll of Seven Seals, though Satan desired to kill her as she was in fact the descendant of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, as well as the fact that he swore to the former that he would destroy his seed in revenge for escaping his fate in Hell. His most well-known appearances involve his roles in destroying Job's faith in God, tempting Jesus, and his pivotal role in the Apocalypse. After his fall from grace, he wields immeasurable supernatural power and the level of his power is the same as it was when he was in Heaven, but it was fairly weakened after being confined in Hell. However, Michael was soon aided by Merkabah who joined the archangel's battle against the two fallen archangels. At the climax, Lucifer resurrected The Beast by sacrificing seven of the most corrupt humans unto sinful lands, and the result of their blood soaking the sinful land awakened the Beast from beneath the roots of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil which gave the Beast immense political power and influence over the minds of those that have been marked with the Mark of the Beast. While he did hold the most power over the Roman Empire he nonetheless held sway over almost all the superpowers of Earth all those many centuries ago. Satan, alongside Lucifer and Beelzebub, fought the Prime Evils with Satan personally battling Tor'Baalos, the Second of the Evils. Set, Hades Pluto, Dis, Anubis A game of tug of war ensued: towns, fortifications, and provinces were continually sacked, captured, destroyed, and traded. This gave Satan and Lilith the opportunity to sneak into the Garden of Eden undetected. He can also find use in humans like Vlad Tepes, later known as Dracula, finding the Voivode of Wallachia's view on God and faith interesting and coincides with his own personal views, thus having him turned into his ultimate weapon to spread these beliefs through terrible actions. Almost all demons in the Inferno, particularly during the reign of Mundus, regard him as nothing more than a legend with the demons even exhibiting fear at the mere mention of his name. Satan was among the seven great kings who was stationed at his own gate, awaiting for the proper alignment of the Conjunction over his Gate so as to pass over to the material plane alongside his armies. However, it would not be long before Satan realized that something was off during his station. The Gates would also be worshiped as demonic effigies that twisted and warped nearby human settlements from the sheer fumes and presence of these Gates. Another testament to his power is when he actually stripped Alucard of all the power that he granted him when the Vampire King was at death's door during his time as a human, before eventually fatally wounding him and devouring him. But when faced against an opponent that is beneath him, he expresses his disappointment by quickly destroying them. However, despite his goals of exposing humanity's wickedness to prove to God that they were inherently sinful, he will not harm innocent and righteous souls, going so far as to never permit them to be dragged or be brought unto Hell. He chose the title of "Satan" as a declaration that he will be the ultimate enemy of mankind; their accuser.
The satan in the Old Testament is a possible tie-in to the Satan of the New Testament. Upon emerging from the crater, Samael abandoned his angelic name and went by the title of "Satan" which means Adversary. Satan awaited the promised day of his release which was intertwined with Lucifer's own release from his tomb. Despite his defeat and imprisonment by Sparda, Satan still had more than enough power and influence to project his astral self unto the human world. Satan harbored a deep contempt for the fate that befell his children and opted to instead mate with Eve in order to further pollute her will and spirit. Samael encountered several and disposed of them with violent efficiency, becoming a venomous sting to the forces of darkness, crippling them before they are thoroughly destroyed by Michael. Through the first murder ever committed on Earth by his own son Cain, the spread of darkness and corruption would forever hold onto the spirits of humanity. He is again faced with more resistance, this time from the young devil hunter Nero who is soundly defeated by the Great Dragon. Samael soon joined Lucifer's cause to usurp God's throne and take over Creation itself but Samael was mainly doing it for his own personal goals and that is to eradicate these humans. A vicious three-way battle between Satan, Alucard, and Anderson under the effects of the Nail ensues with the combatants often interchanging between combat against the other. While other angels disregard humans, and Lucifer holds them in contempt, Satan utterly despises humans. In the beginning, he would aid the people of Rome, Persia, or Greece into crafting massive monuments and buildings of stone with almost precise and expertly done craftsmanship.
He also praised Dante and Vergil's power despite overpowering them and that they should be proud and was impressed by Alexander Anderson's tenacity to bring him down despite only being human. Another testament to his power was when he fought Sparda for days on end and even though he lost the battle it was considered to be among the greatest duels in history and one that pushed Sparda to his absolute limits. Yahweh points out Job's continued faithfulness, to which Satan insists that more testing is necessary; Yahweh once again gives him permission to test Job. It was not until God introduced humanity that he began to change. However, Cain would then go on to murder his brother Abel, bringing the world and humanity further down into sin, and granting Satan more authority and power to judge and punish them for their wickedness.
Angel (Cherubim/Archangel/Fallen Angel) Job describes the "sons of God" (bn hlhm) presenting themselves before Yahweh. Satan replies by urging Yahweh to let him torture Job, promising that Job will abandon his faith at the first tribulation. Should he fail any of them, this will be seen as definitive proof that even "Son of God" is not infallible and perfect. The immensity of his power is evidenced where he imbues his loyal followers with great demonic power allowing them to go toe-to-toe with other mighty supernatural beings. Satan observed Sparda's battle against the Abyss Watchers, demons and humans that joined or were corrupted into Artorias' service respectively, before moving against the Abysswalker himself and slaying him in single combat. Alucard and Satan engage in a violent battle, only for Alucard to find himself overwhelmed and even defeated after a vicious onslaught of attacks from Satan, expressing his disappointment towards his "child". However, unbeknownst to the Woman and the others, "Immanuel" was Lucifer in disguise who took a sample of the boy's blood to open the seven seals of the scrolls. Ariel, again, attempted to restrain him by holding the handle of his great hammer against his neck, while Hasmed unleashed blows of inconceivable power against Samael, of which were said to have rocked his very being to the core. However, over the course of their endeavors, Satan realized that after Lucifer's remaking of creation in order to rid existence of predestination, he will allow the humans to remain. The demons unleash an invasion upon New York to find the woman and take the child with Satan leading the assault on the city. The sons of Sparda and Satan engage in a monstrous battle with Dante nearly losing his life only to assume an incredibly powerful transformation that turns the tides. Satan's defeat marked the end of the Dark Reign. As such, he awaited for the coming of the Conjunction and when it began, Mundus had Mulciber craft the Seven Gates of Hell across the seven continents of the world. He was capable of knocking a "third of the sun, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars" from the sky with his tail. Jesus takes the "iron crown" of Satan and tosses it down to his feet, declaring that he is nothing more than a false king proclaiming himself a god in front of the true Lord of Lords. He first shows Jesus a stone and tells him to turn it into bread. The Dark Knight Initiative fought an arduous and extremely difficult battle against the apocalyptic power of the Beast with the monster only growing more powerful as time passed. God (Father), Asherah (Mother) Moreover, Satan's lies and illusions live on and are sowed in the souls and hearts of man and beast, who have inherited the world, and take shape in men as the fear of death through Lucifer's machinations of having exploited Cain's fear of death and thereby nurturing his inner instincts of inheriting Satan's traits by damning his descendants with the fear of death which would lead to immoral crimes. While Satan was not against the destruction of the human race, he found Mundus' ambitions to be surpassing his own judgement and logic. Beelzebub advised Lucifer on striking back against God not physically but spiritually and emotionally. Satan Among this repairing was him banishing the Prime Evils as they lay dormant within what remains of the Abyss. Samael was given a great hammer by God, used to mend the broken infrastructure of the universe. As an arbiter, Satan would test the morale of humans, putting them in harsh trials during their lives and offering them a choice when they come to a crossroads that would either lead them to damnation or to salvation. Next to both Lucifer and Michael he is the most powerful angel created by God. Satan's true form, at least one that allows the material plane to encompass it wholly without being torn at the seams, is shown to be absolutely titanic and is akin to that of a mountain that wades in the sea. A child that will lead their descendants to a future where they shall reign over the Earth as gods, carrying the legacy and blood of Heaven within. It was also shown that even after Dante and Vergil unlocked their fullest potential from consuming the Rebis they still struggled against his enhanced power. An adult Jesus strolls through the desert during his forty days of fasting, which is quite risky given that the desert was seen as outside the bounds of society and as the home of demons such as Azazel. Legends dictate that Sparda and Satan fought in a battle that could have quite nearly ravaged a massive section of a continent with eyewitnesses, be it demon or human even, consider it to be among the greatest duels in history.
