This topic has been closed for further comments. When I plug in via the optical to HDMI adapter the drops go away (but I lose Atmos and the ability to control the soundbar with the TV remote). I really want to be able to utilize my sound bar to its maximum potential. Sonos Arc is usingthe Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) next-gen version of ARC implemented in HDMI 2.1. Anything I should make sure to do to help improve chances of successful pairing? (I have a HD Fury Arcana but prefer to not need it). Do you have any external devices connected to the TV? It seems I'm getting Atmos OK, just not uncompressed. I have ensured that Simplink is on and the TV speakers are off. Netflix on the tv app sometimes stops outputting sound but it's only happened between episodes as opposed to randomly while an episode is playing. This topic has been closed for further comments. Let us know! The same happened to my Xbox Series X once and if I remember correctly the same solution helped. The only Atmos titles that I am aware of is Jack Ryan, The Tomorrow War, Suspiria, and Carnival Row. If you want detailed info of what audio is playing click on the settings (cog wheel) in the app and then click on system > about my system. NOTE:On some TVs, you may need to select External Audio (Optical/HDMI).

At least those are the settings I use and everything works well.
Run the TV Setup process in the Sonos app and connect the Arc to the TV when the app instructs you to using the HDMI cable that came with the Arc. Whether connected via HDMI or optical dongle.From here you will be able to follow the directions in Sonos LG Magic Remote set up page and all will be good. @RobDeeWhat model TV do you have? That sucks. Not good for a $2k+ system. I tried what you suggested, however when I enable the eARC function in the TV I get the glitch loop again. If you need help with any other information, please be sure to let us know. Some of the community members might provide their own opinion about this, and it will be much appreciated. The Sonos community is always here to help. Edit: I should add, it's only when I enable eARC that I get the problems. May I ask, have you performed the steps we provided in this thread? What do you mean by not getting atmos? Therefore, Iamcontemplating a very expensive, upgrade to make it work, butwant to be 100% sure, that the Sonos Arc is fully compatible, with no known issues. Let us know what you have in mind with the advice above. Issue solvedthanks a lot for tipsyes dolby atmos can only be played in original soundtrack. I shouldn't really bother pursuing this then until I test it with those formats.

I had a similar issue with a samsung hw-k950 soundbar some years ago. :). If I change the source to internal then back to hdmi arc it solves it. Not yet but will surely try and will reply .
My question is, like how TVs have "accurate/optimal" picture settings, would I have to set my TV (lg cx) sound settings manually to get good audio out of my sonos arc (standard cinema, oled surround, bass boost etc) or will plugging in the sonos arc make the sonos arc handle the settings and Id have to control the sound settings through the sonos app? We have no information to share with you yet when this will be resolved. The Sonos Arc is not inexpensive and Dolby Atmos support was part of the reason why I decided to purchase it. EDIT: also just wanted to comment that I have used multiple HDMI cables to rule out the HDMI cable being the problem. But as soon as the TV is turned back on they disconnect. It worked flawlessly! Prime Video has very limited Dolby Atmos titles. I'm at my winter home now and don't have Sonos here, but I know The Mandalorian is one of them. Reconnect the HDMI cable directly to your TV and the Sonos Arc/Beam. It should also work with Sonos Arc. I understand HDMI-ARC is required for Dolby Atmos signal. Im going to repost to a Sonos ARC problem stream sense this is not an issue with the LG CX. I suggest our phone team for they have more resources available on their system for advanced troubleshooting, and the tools our agents can use would be very useful in this case, there can be an advantage if they need to remote into the controller to see what's going on.

However, I noticed on the home theater settings that theARC (Audio Return Channel) status on the TV is disabled.
Wait 30 seconds before you plug them back in. This isa Sonos ARC problem. Go to All Settings -> Sound -> Additional Settings and turn on eARC. I enabled eARC on the tv and set the digital sound out to Pass through. Thank you both. I did find the two options to set eArc and Pass Through. Hello, I am having the same issue- Sonos ARC with LG 65oledCX. I have a Sonos Beam and Sonos arc. With what movie or series on what service? I assume not and we have to live with the inability of the (not so) magic remote operating the Arc.
But a better solution to keep lpcm was to set the hdmi audio in on the tv to pcm from Bitstream. Sound menu Select Audio Out (Optical/HDMI ARC). Its a minor annoyance and switching off eARC isnt really a workaround as you lose Atmos and the Arc doesnt have any extra HDMI inputs for me to plug devices into directly. Agree, Ive found that to be the case as well - making sure CEC control was turned on. However, there are two issues: (1) Sonos app tells me there is a connectionissuewith my TV setup, and (2) the TV remote cannot change the volume on the Arc. Just to clarify, the eArc is for HDMI port 2 not port 1 I believe. Please try again in a few minutes. Are you using the HGMI labeled eARC on the GX? Disabling the eARC is a workaround to address the audio dropping issues. Same issue.
FYIyou are only going to get lossless Dolby Atmos via Dolby TrueHD from a Blu-ray or UHD disc or from an external media device that supports Dolby TrueHD like an Nvidia Shield. I would also suggest setting the TV ports to pass-through the audio received from other HDMI connected devices and configure the audio-out codecs on those other devices, rather than having the TV processing/transcoding their signal. It seems to me that the problem lies either with Sonos or LGs implementation of the e-arc/arc protocol. I am getting an error when attempting to connect the TV from the Sonos app. Adjust the group audio delay - Settings > System > Tap your Sonos Beam > Group Audio Delay and then choose a delay option. I have a newLG 87connected to my Arc via the eARC HDMI port utilizing an expensive high bandwidth return cable. Or a reboot of the tv also helps.
If I use the optical adapter the sub and surrounds dont disconnect but I dont have volume control and cant use all the features of the SONOS ARC. Thanks for reaching out and for looking into this. I have LG55 C1 2021, I enabled CEC on the TV and have no devices connected.. Make sure the Arc is connected to the TVs HDMI eARC port andset yourTV to these settings: My Sonos Arc works in Arc mode, I am connected to the Arc/eARC socket 3 on the back and have all of the settings as suggested. Try settings up the sonos that way through the tv. What I did find was either a quick tv reboot or switching the audio source to internal then back to Arc solved it for me. Let me suggest the next troubleshooting and see if it works for you. So Im in a holding pattern on this issue now, cant fix something thats working. Although it plays well from the soundbar, the app does not recognize it at properly syncing. Although you may see an option for Sonos in this list, we find that Philips seems to work best.
