The snack display is awesome. Unfortunately, I chose this hotel based on the availability of the airport shuttle.
The bed was soft and firm at the same time with a selection of pillows. Seeing that the shuttle hours are posted as ending at 11pm, I contacted the hotel to ask if they were accommodating this new flight time.
One of our neighbors apparently left their distressed dog in its cage all day long, and he barked for hours, either scared, sick or needing to be walked. I was skeptical but the pancakes were good. We were very, very pleased with our stay.

The rooms were clean and the beds were OK, the pillows I was not impressed with but that is just my personal comfort. It wasn't far away - about 10 minutes. The accommodation offers 3-star accommodation with an indoor pool. we did not get a chance to play in the pool, but the room was wonderful. We found it to be dated not as clean as I had hoped and it didnt provide us with a microwave or refrigerator and when I inquired about the refrigerator I was told it would be $10 a day for it.
I am not sure if there was a problem or what but parts of the hotel looked like it was under renovation and other parts did not appear to be that way.
Will certainly consider staying again on our travels. Nature enthusiasts appreciate the hotel's location near Mt. It's a fun pool area with a water feature, but needs warmer water. The hotel had a really nice pool with a walk in area which was great for kids. We didn't use the pool but enjoyed watching a few families use it. For specific inquiries, we recommend calling ahead to confirm. A gym and laundry facilities are also on site.The National American University is 1.5 mile away. Delta changed from morning to nighttime arrivals so we left a day early and added a night at this hotel so we could get a shuttle ride upon arrival and back the next day to pick up our rental car. They actually located the person who orders the breakfast items for the hotel and answered all of my questions. We didnt try the TV, internet, or pool while there so we can't comment on that. Love the shampoo, conditioner and bath gel in the shower!!!! We stayed for 3 nights. Check In was no problem and our room was very clean. The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rapid City was fully renovated in 2013 and is well suited for both family and business needs. Front desk personnel very nice and accommodating.

Barb and winter were great. We would stay here again if in the area. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel.
